I have the coolest new neighbors!
Today I met my neighbors. I've been running around a lot, so I haven't had a chance to integrate too much with my new neighbors. Today my neighbor Chata, invited me over to her house. Her house doesn't look like too much from the outside, but on the inside, it was very homely, moreso than my neighbors' houses near my old house. She had an actual living room, with a rug in the middle. She has 3 beautiful daughters, 2 of who are already married and have kids, and one who is 22 and still in school. They were so laid back and down to earth I was shocked. I started talking to all of them. The oldest daughter, 25, is married and has a kid already. She's studying social work, and helps her husband with his gas station business. The youngest daughter is in college still and GUESS WHAT? She's been to EUROPE! She showed me her pictures from her trip where she went to some Congress in Scotland and we had much to discuss for the next couple of hours. They were very hospitable, kind of like what I'd expect a family in India to be, offering me coffee. And it was Chata's birthday, so her son-in-law brought her a cake! I didn't feel right being there for the cake, but once they ask you to stay, you better stay. We sang Happy Brithday and had cake and Pepsi. It turns out they will be attending my English class Tuesday nights. I tell you what. I feel right at home with my new next door neighbors!
