Boss Visit

My boss came out to visit me today...

I've been preparing for this all week, well all month actually. She's supposed to come visit every 3 months, that became 4 months, then 5 months... Oh well at least she comes. No worries. I showed her where I was at with my work projects right now...here's a summary of everything I've done in service so far...

Database for the farmacias - I created a database for the farmacias, and they're finally using it! I might have to remind them a bit, but they're using them! :) (And I update it every so often with more reports, etc.)

Document managing incoming and outgoing transactions

Database for the coop - Based on the last report, I've started working on a database to manage each transaction and update the account balance associated with the client's specific account. They only update their list once a year otherwise! :-o

CD burner - After the coop's computer crashed in May (while I was home), that was all it took to convince Efraín to buy a CD burner for the coop to back up their My Documents.

Manual de Trabajo - well this is half done, but it's a start - basically list of jub functions of each person in the coop

Reanalysis and changes to the loan recuperation process

Internet in the coop - yes, finally, internet is back in the coop!

Trained farmacias to count inventory more efficiently

Trained internet business owner to manage his own accounting

Created Feasibility Study Document (automated)

Helped him with budgeting and understanding penalty interest - that the initial investment (AKA LOAN) should be repaid sooner than later or you're screwed

he's got 20 clients now!

English and Math classes for kids

woohoo! Pilar was very pleased.

She was so pleased she actually helped me negotiate the cost of the apartment I want to move into. We've got it down from 800 Q to 500 Q with light and water included according to the owner's wife. (pending confirmation with the owner).

based on reports that my boss needs to be sent to PC Headquarters, another volunteer and I created surveys for the volunteers to fill out and will help sort through the results to fill out her reports.

so workwise all is well más o menos
